Here’s what some of the teachers at Kimbrough are saying about this program and the student athletes at USD:
“Marisa is awesome and is such a HUGE help. First semester she taught the kids to play softball, it was so empowering for some of my girls who feel very self conscious when it comes to PE that a girl could play and teach them a sport. This semester she is working with my two lowest guided reading groups to give them some extra support. My students love her and are so excited that she is still with us...I hope that she will be getting some kind of credit or recognition for her time.”
“Just wanted to let you know that Sarah did a really great job with the students and they loved working with her on their math and reading. She always followed our plan, worked hard and was great with the kids. I really appreciate her participation and thank you for setting the program up. Best of luck in the future, Sarah!”
“That was SO fun and GREAT for the kids! On Rachel's last day with us, the kids actually wanted her AUTOGRAPH!!! I told her, now she REALLY had to become somebody famous!!!”
“Ryan is great - I have kindergarten class and he has jumped right in. We have made friendship sandwiches and done art projects with him. He is fantastic with the kids and it is especially nice having a male role model in the room as many of the kids do not have fathers in their lives. Thanks so much for bringing this program to our school.”
