Mission Statement
Athletes for Education Foundation (AFE) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization composed of current and former athletes, entertainers, business and community leaders. We serve as mentors partnering together to help our youth in the community help themselves. By hosting special events and raising funds to benefit youth programs, we look to achieve our goals of a better community.
AFE's mission is separated into several main objectives.
The first if to encourage youth to be creative, build bridges instead of walls, and dare to dream with our mentorship & scholarship programs. Our goal is to challenge youth to preserve and believe that by developing self-confidence and self-esteem and hard work they can make their dreams come true.
Secondly we seek to improve the well-being and health of our community. We will support at-risk youth from low-income families in our community by providing free medical care and surgical procedures.
We will support and honor our cherished military personnel. We hope to provide events for their recreation to show our support. We want our military family to know we are behind them 100% and value their sacrifices for our freedom.
AFE's medical and mentorship programs match current and retired professionals, with youth and community programs; the programs focus mainly on teaching our youth the value of education while providing specific incentive & reward components to motivate them to succeed in life.
Young people respond positively when people they respect and look up to take a sincere interest in their personal abilities and talents. It is through AFE's involvement with our youth that we challenge, encourage and reward them for their hard work and for making an effort to truly make a difference in their own lives and in our community.
AFE's programs and event's will only preserve as long as caring people and businesses invest in our communities' future through our youth. Because of the generous support of our partners and sponsors, AFE is able to continue providing children with safe and positive alternatives for building a better tomorrow.
