Each year at the start of the holiday season, Greg Camarillo teams up with Publix grocery stores to host the “Kids & Fins” Shopping Spree. One hundred deserving children from Broward and Miami-Dade public schools are paired up with a current or former Miami Dolphin player, cheerleader or local celebrity for a $100 shopping spree to buy all the necessities for a Thanksgiving dinner for their family. The kids are treated a hearty, healthy dinner as well as fun and games at the downtown Fort Lauderdale Publix store.
“Kids & Fins” has become a huge hit in the community and grows more exciting every year. Greg loves to talk about the event, "It’s a lot of fun. Its Thanksgiving time - we’re very thankful for our community that supports the Dolphins. This is our way of saying thanks back to them and making sure these kids have a proper Thanksgiving meal that they can share and celebrate with their families."
Greg also recognizes that without the generosity of Bill Fauerbach and the Publix team this amazing event would not be possible. “Mr. Fauerbach has been a great supporter of the Miami Dolphins and Greg's community programs. We’re thrilled to have an ongoing partnership with him to enrich the lives of these children and their families each holiday. It gives us another reason to be thankful.”
