Luis "Fat Boy" Castro donates his hair to young cancer patients and helps raise funds for Ysabel's Pink Angels on Dec 26, 2011

On December 26th, for the last Monday Night Football game of the year, Athletes for Education had a special event at the Tilted Kilt in Downtown San Diego. AFE hosted a night of fun with opportunity drawings, good times and an incredibly special DONATION event!!!

Our very own, Luis Castro, aka, Fat Boy cut his hair for donations. Luis is 10 years old and an amazing student-athlete who has been growing out his hair for 3 ½ years to donate it to an organization who helps young cancer patients. His hair was approximately 24 inches long. It was finally time to say good bye to his long curls. Luis was often mistaken for a young girl; the mix up was not taken as an insult but as inspiration to continue to grow his hair to help put a smile on a young girls face. Proceeds from this event benefit AFE’s Ysabels Pink Angels. Ysabel, founder of the Pink Angels is a two time cancer survivor, currently going through treatment.
